Is this a complete change of direction for Samsung in the connected watch market? The South Korean company already has a range called Gear, but one cannot say that it is a great success. More and more indications tend to prove that the company would take a new course with a range of Galaxy Watch.
Farewell Gear?
According to the SamMobile portal, Samsung is about to make a significant strategic change. To support this statement, the site relies on a “Samsung Galaxy Watch” logo. A generally well-informed Twitter user goes even further and claims that Samsung would give up his home operating system Tizen in the process. Instead, it would return to WearOS, the system developed by Google, a complete change of direction. According to some rumors, Samsung would also integrate his vocal assistant Bixby.

Reviving a dying market

Information which in any case should globally confirm that there is no big revolution to predict. Samsung is probably looking to combine its different products under the Galaxy banner. A label that should be a little more meaningful and more attractive to customers than Gear.
